Robin Helene Holley, 64, died of cancer July 28, 2008 at home in Wasilla.

Two celebration of life events will be held: one at her Wasilla home and one in Fairbanks at 2 p.m. Aug. 17 at Northstar Aero at Chena Marina. Her cremated remains are to be air-dropped over the Holley summer cabin on Geskakima Lake near Manley Hot Springs.

Holley was born Sept. 14, 1943 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Fairbanks. She graduated from Lathrop High School in Fairbanks and was a bookkeeper for Central Supply Company there for 35 years. She was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and the 99’s (an aviation women’s group), and was a bookkeeper for homeowner associations.

Her family wrote, “Robin was a gourmet cook, a collector of cookbooks and also an avid reader. Robin never missed a garage sale and collected Eskimo and Indian artifacts. Her early Alaska aviation collection is extensive. Both collections will be donated to museums. Robin was an accomplished floatplane pilot and loved to fly. Her parents came to Alaska in the late 1930s and trapped at 17 Mile on the Porcupine River above Ft. Yukon. Robin was named after her father’s lead dog. Robin was a green-thumb gardener and loved animals.”

Survivors include Holley’s husband, Curtis Holley of Wasilla; sister, Jane DelBridge of Fairbanks; brother, Dr. Lance Morris of Tucson, Ariz.; and lifelong friend, Maxine Vanderbilt of Phoenix, Ariz. She had no children.

She was preceded in death by her father, Elkan Morris, on June 13, 2008, and her mother, Anne Morris in 1990.

Arrangements are with Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory.
