Ronald Arthur Covell

Longtime Alaska resident Ronald Arthur Covell, 54, passed away April 27, 2010, at his home in Houston. A celebration of life and potluck will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at Leo M. Nunley Park off of East Swanson Avenue in Wasilla. Edward Keller will officiate at the service.

Ron was born on Aug. 12, 1955, in Anchorage to Frances and Arthur Covell. He was a member of the Valley Church of Christ. His true hobbies were computers, his music station (which was called “Mat-Su Mega Tunes”) and photography.

His family wrote, “Ron had a special quality of filling any place with laughter and his friends will sorely miss him. Starting at a young age, he taught himself to play the drums and could play along with anything. He will be forever loved and missed by his family, but never forgotten. Ron will always be in our hearts.”

Ron is survived by his sister, Janice Keller of Houston; sister, Lynne Richard and her husband Rich of Wisconsin; niece, Tina Rose and her husband Donald of Houston; great-nephew, Aaron Keller and his wife Amanda of Washington; great-great-nieces, Angelina Dominica and Alana Keller of Washington; great-niece, Jennifer Arnold and her husband Matt, Stationed in Ft. Belvoir, Va., and their four sons; nephew, Errol Keller and his wife Michelle of Wasilla; great-niece, Alicia Keller of Wasilla; great-nephew, Errol Keller Jr. of Wasilla; nephew, Tim Richard and his wife Tina of Michigan; niece, Michelle Richard of Michigan; niece, Diana Henry and her husband, Ron of Wisconsin; nephew, David Richard of Wisconsin; ex-wife, Janice of Wasilla and her daughter, Wendy Covell of Washington; close family friend, Ronald D. Keller II of Wasilla; cousins, Mark McKee of Anchorage; Jodi Metcalf of Eagle River and his min-pin, Shiloh.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Frances and Arthur Covell; uncle, Pat; grandmother, Dorothy McKee and grandfather Mac McKee.

Memorial donations may be sent In loving memory to Janice Keller at P.O. Box 8705158 Wasilla, AK 99687. Flowers are welcomed at the service.

Arrangements were with Valley Funeral Home and Crematory in Wasilla.
