Ron passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024 surrounded by family. He was a loving & proud husband, dad, papa, and great grandpa.
He was born in Saginaw, Michigan, and shortly after graduating high school enlisted in the Marine Corps. Ron was a proud Marine veteran and supported many veteran organizations.
Ron moved to Alaska in 1971, and shortly after began a career with the U.S. Postal Service, and retired after 30 years.
In retirement, Ron enjoyed building custom ATV trailers and welcomed everyone who stopped by his shop.
Ron loved the Alaska outdoors and was an avid hunter & fisherman. He didn’t miss an opportunity to spend time at the family cabins on Lake Louise.
Ron is survived by his wife of 45 years, Katie; son, Scott (Danielle); daughter, Lori (Jason Froehle); 4 beloved grandchildren, Tyler (Cheyenne), Hailey (Jayden Reynolds), Kaitlyn Froehle, Grace Froehle; beloved great grandchildren Carter & Thomas; brothers, Larry (Gloria), Dennis, & Robert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth & Mary Boensch; sister, Joan Drabeck; brother, Tom Boensch; beloved great grandson, Clayton Scott Boensch.
Ron’s wish was to have a small family celebration which will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to honor his memory may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or Alaska Healing Hearts
