Ronnie Jones

Ronnie Jones (known as RJ or Ron) passes away at the age of 65, relaxed and happy, on May 31^st. He was known far and wide as the hard-working, faithful provider and head of his large family.

Renowned not only for his tremendous expertise, sometimes old school way, and singular ability to complete any job required of him to the highest possible mark, but to make anyone near him laugh as he did it. Hired on as one of the original Slope workers, Ron has held positions with BP and contractors over the years. Most recently with ASCI (TAR Team Lead) you would be hard pressed to find someone who didn’t count him as a friend.

Ron enjoyed boating, the outdoors, RVing, visiting grandchildren, and most of all making people laugh. His younger days were filled with all Alaska had to offer: 4 children (Mindy, Ashley, Jesse, James), trips to the cabin (Horseshoe Lake), trips to the Lodge (Kokhanok) or family cabin (Illiamna), and many great adventures as a pilot amongst a wide group of friends and in-laws. His employment was challenging and rewarding in the oil fields of Alaska and for privately owned high/tech International companies (The Price Group) out of Sarasota.

Preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Ashley Rene’, we are all comforted to think of their reunion in Heaven. He is survived by 3 children and a bonus daughter (Mindy, Jesse, James, & Donna), and his grandchildren: Madison, Aiden, Olivia, Ivy, Lillian, and Oliver. Ron is also survived by his closest friend and wife of 35 years, Teri, as well as all the in-laws from the Graybill family (Jay, Lori, Cori, Meri), his sister Connie (Chris), and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

The success of navigating the tremendous challenges of life and accomplishments through hard work built a refined loyalty within his family, friends, and colleagues. On behalf of the Jones’ family, we thank you and share the deepest sense of loss.
