Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Rosa Weigel, 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep Aug. 30, 2013.
Celebration of life in memory of Rosa is at 1 p.m., Sept. 28 at the Weigel Family Home, 15590 Northshore Dr., Big Lake.
Rosa was born Jan. 14, 1928, in Valley City, N.D., and lived there until moving to Anchorage in 1953. She moved back to Valley City in 1967 until her family brought her back to Anchorage in 2010 to be with them.
Rosa loved spending time with her grown children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching her favorite TV game shows, “The Price is Right” and “Wheel of Fortune.”
“She was a very loving and caring mom and will be missed very much,” her family said.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Joseph Weigel; mother, Selma Bachman; and two brothers, Preston Bachman and Burt Bachman.
Surviving are her four grown children, Nancy Turner, Michael Sauer, Jackie Jemison and Patrick Sauer; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Additional services and burial of her urn will in Valley City, N.D., at a later date.
