Longtime Wasilla resident, Ms. Rose Theresa Diliberto Weeks, 89, passed away at Providence hospital in Anchorage, Alaska on Friday September 19, 2014.
Rose was born on October 1, 1924 in Lynn, Massachusetts. She attended Saint Mary’s Grammar School in 1938, and Saint Mary’s High School in the year of our lord 1942. Rose moved to Alaska in 1973 and has lived there ever since.
Rose loved to fish, and she was the best cook; she always made sure her 10 children were well fed.
Her family wrote, “she took pride in our appearances and was always proud of our accomplishments. She loved all of her children very much. She was the best and always will be to all of us. We will deeply miss her. She was very wise and showed charity to all. She loved music and Bingo in her latter years. She was our ‘Bingo Queen.’ She touched the hearts of many people in the 89 years that God gave her to us all. Her smile was the greatest, and she was always smiling.”
Rose was survived by her brother Nicky Diliberto; daughters Julia Evans, Rose Plemel, Mary Davies, Cathrine Dresnek, Gail Weeks, and Jackie Marshall; sons Anthony Bucchiere, Robert Mills and Dale Weeks; 19 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildern.
She was preceded in death by daughter Joy Ford.
