Longtime Wasilla resident, Roseann Chalker, 74, passed away Jan. 4, 2018. A service will be held Jan. 13, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 4 p.m., 821 East Dellwood Street, Wasilla, Alaska. Burial to take place at Palmer Pioneer Cemetery Jan. 15, 2018 at 3 p.m. Roseann was born July 24, 1943, in Parsons, Kansas to Robert and Thelma Jobe, where she grew up and married Wayne Chalker on May 28, 1961. She came to Alaska in 1976 with her husband and 4 children. Roseann was a homemaker for many years. She later worked for Joann Fabric and Walmart’s craft and sewing department feeding her love of crafting and quilting. She taught seminary in the church for many years and was very involved in the Valley Quilters Guild.
Roseann is survived by her 4 children; Jeanne Lentz, Adam Chalker, Roberta Pyrah, and Kelley Davis, her 5 grandchildren; Zane and Delaney Davis, CJ, PJ and Harley Pyrah, and great-grandson, Salem Barrett. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne and grandson Adam Lentz.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Parkinson’s Foundation in her name.
