Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Roy “Trigger” Dale Munholland, 59, died April 30, 2011, of organ failure at the 673rd Medical Group Hospital on Elmendorf Air Force Base.
A service is at 2:30 p.m., Saturday at the Wasilla VFW Post off Knik-Goose Bay Road.
Trigger was born March 11, 1952, in Houston, Texas. He graduated from tech schools and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He began his residency in Alaska in 1981, living in Anchorage for five years before moving to Wasilla.
Trigger was an advocate for disabled Alaskans working through Access Alaska and Challenge Alaska. Even after the loss of his leg, he continued to take people fishing and skiing through Challenge Alaska. He was an avid fisherman and won third place in the Mat-Su King Salmon Derby four years in a row. He also enjoyed hunting and playing darts. He was loved by his family and friends and will be missed.
He is survived by his son, Jeffery Munholland and daughter-in-law Mandy Munholland; daughter, Acacia Johnson and son-in-law Rick Johnson; grandchildren, Kelsey, Jeffery Jr., Reece, Jaden, Keeli and Rylin; mother, Vera Jo Munholland; brother and sisters, Mike and Laura Munholland, Jessica and David Irvin, Pattie and Bill Schultz, and Judy Foley; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family; and the special friends who were like family — you know who you are.
Arrangements were with Legacy Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Kehl’s Palmer Chapel.
