Ruth M. Ward, 91, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2024.
Ruth was a lifelong Alaskan, having moved here in 1935 when she was 2 years old with her parents, Cecil & Mary Kurtz, who were colonists having moved from the Madison, Wisconsin area. Ruth married William W. Ward in 1952 and had 4 children. The family loved hunting, fishing and camping together. Ruth and Bill were married almost 56 yrs. before his death in 2008.
Ruth was survived by her sister Helen Kurtz, her children Sharon Pelletier, David (Tracie) Ward, Carole (Dale) Long, Mary Drew and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and dear friends.
A memorial is planned for Saturday, July 20 at 2pm, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 900 E NorthStar Circle, Wasilla, AK 99654.
