Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Samuel R. McLeod, 72, died Nov. 21 of natural causes at his home in Wasilla.
Mr. McLeod was born Oct. 4, 1936, in Mississippi.
Mr. McLeod served in the Air Force and is a retired disabled veteran.
He was a member of the Valley Church of Christ in
Wasilla.
Mr. McLeod moved to Alaska in 1963.
He is survived by his wife, Mally McLeod of Wasilla; daughters, Lorelei Laflenn of Eagle River and Dianne Davis of Spokane, Wash.; and son, Scott McLeod of Wasilla
A funeral will be held at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory, 1015 S. Check Street, Wasilla, at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 29 officiated by Minister Robert Kuenning. A visitation will be held at 11 a.m., prior to the service.
He will be interred at Aurora Cemetery in Wasilla following the service.
