Sandi French

Long time Palmer resident Sandi French, 74, passed away Sept. 20, 2023, while living at Tranquility Manor Estates in Palmer. A service will be held at Kiehl’s Palmer Mortuary 209 S. Alaska St Palmer at noon and a Celebration of Life potluck will be held at 205 West Beaver Ave. following the service.

Mrs. French was born January 17, 1949 in Anchorage, Alaska, to Les and Dottie Fetrow. She graduated from Chugiak High School in 1967. She married Bill French on December 1, 1967 in Chugiak. She lived on various Air Force Bases before settling at Carswell in Fort Worth in 1974. She lived in various towns and cities in Tarrant County, TX before returning to Alaska in 1991. She worked at Kenai Supply and the Chugiak United Methodist Church and was a primary caregiver to her parents until their passing. She enjoyed needlecrafts, gardening, bowling, and diamond art. Sandi’s daughters wrote, “Mom was a pillar of strength and endurance. She was a woman of quiet faith who never turned away from God. While we mourn her passing, we are grateful that she had the anticipation of Heaven.”

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Daughn and Gary Ranne of Euless, TX and Karen and Larry Heal of Palmer, AK, two grandsons, Connor Heal, his wife Emma of Palmer; Noah Heal of Palmer. Sandi is preceded in death by her husband Bill.
