On Tuesday August 7, 2018, Sara Gabel, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 66 years. She was born May 22nd, 1952 in Lancaster, Ohio. Anyone who had the privilege to know Sara will remember her caring nature, amazing cooking and award-winning quilting. Sara’s legacy as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother will be forever remembered. She is survived by her son, Michael Gabel and her two precious grandchildren, Joshua and Zachary Gabel and their mother Stacy (Harris) Gabel. Sara is preceded in death by her eternal husband, Robert “Bob” Gabel and her parents Ned Enoch and Helen (Straley) Enoch. Sara touched many lives and will be remembered by her extended family and numerous friends scattered around the country.
A celebration of Sara’s life was held in Rexburg, ID on August 11th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Sara will be coming home to Alaska and laid to rest next to her husband at Fort Richardson National Cemetery on Friday September 7, at 2:30 pm.
