Scott Allen Burroughs

Scott Allen Burroughs, 55, of Wasilla, passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center of organ failure.

Scott was born Dec. 1, 1959, in Roanoke, Virginia, and is survived by his parents, Eddie and Carol Sue Burroughs, of Roanoke County, Virginia; sister, Kelly and husband Scot Mackay, of Atlanta, Georgia; and his beloved faithful dog, Suzy.

The family moved to Eagle River, Alaska, in 1977. Scott joined the Dionnes, Ron, Rene, and Mark, riding dirt bikes and fishing. He graduated Chugiak in 1978, later moved to the Valley in 1994 with Donna Rider and her daughter, Beth, both of whom remain valued friends along with Beth’s eight children, all of whom Scott claimed as his grandchildren.

In Big Lake, they fished and ice fished, snowmachined, and Scott raced at Capitol Speedway in Willow, winning many races and trophies.

Scott was the very best son, much loved by his family and his many friends.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Valley Funeral Home, Wasilla Chapel. No Services are planned at this time.
