On the morning of Oct. 10, 2015, Shandi L. McCormick passed away, surrounded by loved ones.
Shandi was born in Colorado, but called Alaska home. Her life was one of love and compassion. Shandi loved to explore Alaska and always had an eye out for an eagle.
She was always there for the ones she loved, be it for advice, a shoulder to cry on or a place to stay. Her heart and house were always open.
Shandi’s last years were spent surrounded by friends new and old, plus the constant love and support of her family. Shandi is survived by her son, parents, sister, two grandchildren and many close friends. She touched so many lives in the short time she was here. Those who knew Shandi, will never forget. She was loved and will be missed greatly.
A celebration of life will be held Oct. 17 at 1 p.m. at Legacy Funeral Home, 1015 S. Check St., Wasilla AK.
