Longtime Wasilla resident, Shannon Carpenter, 81 passed away on July 26, 2025, peacefully at her residence.
There will be a Celebration of Life on August 9, 2025, 4pm at Kings Chapel 3301 E. Parks Hwy.
Shannon arrived in Alaska from Michigan at age 2 and grew up at the experimental farm in Palmer, her father’s place of employment.
Shannon was a Sunday School teacher for many years at Wasilla Assembly of God and was loved by many in the Valley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Carpenter in 1978 and oldest son Sean Carpenter in 2022.
She is survived by her youngest son and daughter-in-law Brendan and Jody Carpenter and two grandchildren, Kevin and Olivia Carpenter.
