76, passed away September 28, 2019 at home in Palmer, Alaska surrounded by family.
She was born in Fairview, Oklahoma to Elferd & Sophie Cornelsen. She married John Hett June 11, 1966. They drove the Alcan for their honeymoon and made Alaska their home. She taught at Chugiak High School, Valley Christian School and Heritage Christian School, touching the lives of many students. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother to three daughters, grandmother to 14, and great-grandmother to six.
Sharon is survived by her husband, John, her daughters: Tammy (Roger) Rowland, Teresa (Duane) Clark, Tricia (Shayne) Herr, grandchildren: Kimberly (David) Durst, Julie (Bridger) Herrmann, Sharon (Ben) Person, Axel (Amelia) Rowland, Caitlin Rowland, Jessica, Julia, Joyanna, & Joshua Clark, Briana, Cassey, & Kaylee Herr, Megan (Thomas) VanDiest, great-grandchildren: Daniel, Abigail, & Anna Person, Lydia & Heidi Herrmann, Elowyn Durst, & brothers Sherman and Michael Cornelsen.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elferd & Sophie Cornelsen, brother Calvin Cornelsen, & grandson Johnathan Clark.
She was laid to rest in Pioneer Cemetery.
