Shawn D. Berberich, 44, originally from Cantwell, passed away March 13, 2014.
Surviving are her beloved son, Douglas Rauchenstein; mother, Jessi Cotter; father, Daniel Berberich; siblings, Bonni Berberich, Thomas Jordan, Lillian Jordan of Palmer and Cora (Brian) Pederson of Ventura, Calif.; and grandmother, Muriel Cotter of Palmer.
Shawn also has a large and loving family with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, all who will miss her beautiful laughter and loving nature. Shawn will also be greatly missed by her many friends.
During Shawn’s life, she lived in Alaska, the Pacific Northwest and California, but she was always a true “Alaska Girl” at heart. One of Shawn’s very favorite places was her great grandma and grandpa’s Alaska homestead.
Shawn had a strong faith and a great love for people, music and animals. Shawn never “judged a book by its cover.” She always had a ready, warm sunny smile and loved to laugh. There will be a celebration of life for Shawn at her mother's home at noon, March 21. Shawn will be laid to rest at the Cotter Family Cemetery in Chickaloon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Victory Outreach in Oxnard, Calif., victoryoutreachoxnard.org for its new Alaska Outreach Program.
Kehl's Palmer Funeral Home handled funeral arrangements.
