Shay Forrester Ragsdale of Chickaloon/Sutton, Alaska passed away on October 2, 2016 at the age of 23. A Memorial & Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Sutton Bible Church, 15772 N Glenn Hwy, Sutton, Alaska. A potluck will follow services at the Church.
Shay was born August 17, 1993 in Dillon, Montana; later lived on the family ranch in Deer Lodge, Montana, attended grade school in Conrad, Montana, and moved to Alaska in 2005- attending PJMS and Palmer High School.

An avid outdoorsman, Shay had solid sawyer skills and provided firewood and tree clearing services to many in the valley. He was a jovial giving person with a wonderful sense of humor and was always ready to lend a hand to people in need. While he had a quiet and peaceful demeanor, Shay was athletic and had great courage, competing in numerous AFC MMA bouts with little training.
He loved animals, particularly the family dog Ziv, and could frequently be found riding horseback. As a naturalist, he promoted eating healthy, organic foods and enjoyed Salmon fishing and dip-netting with his friends and family.
A spiritual and kind person, baptized in the Mormon Church of Palmer- Shay will live in the hearts of his friends and family forever.
Shay is survived by his brother, Tristan Ragsdale and father, Scott Ragsdale, of Sutton, Alaska; mother, Leah Williams of Anaconda, Montana; and siblings Brad and Brooke Gervais of Montana.
