Sheila May Woods

Sheila May Woods, 35, passed away May 22nd surrounded by family and friends.

Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, she moved to Palmer as an adult. As a graduate of Bartlett High School, class of 2003, she then followed her passion for taking care of others. Sheila was the first-born daughter to Sterling and Irene Nielsen, and a highly anticipated grandchild, being the first on her father’s side of the family and one of many on her mother’s side.

Her daughters, Brooke and Bria, were the seed in the center of her sunflower. Sheila always said if she was known for anything, she wanted it to be that she is Brooke and Bria’s mom.

Playing softball, four wheeling, and going shooting were a few of Sheila’s favorite hobbies. She also loved fast cars, music that causes you sing out loud, and spending time in the Alaskan sunshine.

Sheila is survived by her daughters, Brooke and Bria Woods; sister, Shala Nielsen; niece, Nicolette Cravens; nephew, Jordan Cravens; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sheila is preceded in death by her parents, Sterling and Irene (Wells) Nielsen.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 29th, 2 pm, at the Palmer Family Church of the Nazarene, 1951 N Hemmer Road, Palmer, Alaska 99645, with an option to stream via https://m.facebook.com/palmerfamilychurch/.
