Long time Alaskan resident of Willow and Wasilla, Shirley Burgholzer (The Grizz) 81 went to be with our Lord September 18, 2022. Shirley was born October 27, 1940 in Chicago Ill. She moved up to Hatcher Pass, Willow, Alaska and married Edward Burgholzer (Burgie) in 1964.
Her hobbies were: Reading, gaming, crocheting, opera music and spending time with her many grand babies. She was an awesome cook and left the family with many recipes. Shirley’s love for her family, generosity, and kind heart was an inspiration to her loved ones. She lived a life full of love and Jesus.
She is survived by her cubs, Son, Michael Whisman, her 4 daughters Carol Buban, Mechele Ramsey (Harry), Melaine Putnam (Jeff), and Melinda Hunter (Robbie). Shirley was also blessed with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is united in Heaven with her wonderful husband Burgie. Services will be held at Legacy Heritage Funeral Home 1015 South Check. St Wasilla, September 27th at 1:00 PM. A burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Edlund Road, Wasilla following the services. We all love you Momma, and you will be missed dearly, until we meet again.
