Sophia Carmella Buehler
Sophia Carmella Buehler passed away on February 5th, 2021 after courageously battling cancer. Her last days were spent with her adoring parents, siblings, children, cousins, and other family by her side.
Sophia’s light shone brightly for 37 years; even through her illness, her personality and humor never dimmed. That light will forever live on in everyone who loved her.
Sophia was born December 19th, 1983, to Engelberto and Gina Perez in Anchorage, AK. Sophia was a joyous child; you’d never catch her without a smile on her face. Sophia grew up in Anchorage, constantly surrounded by her friends and family. She graduated from East High School in 2002 and then earned a Bachelor of Business later in life. She loved working in finance.
In 2009 Sophia became a mother, and that’s when she would say her life truly began. Corbin (12), Hudson (7), and Reagan (6) were the light of her life, and being a mom was truly her greatest accomplishment. Sophia treasured her boys and embraced every moment with them.
Aside from being a mom, Sophia enjoyed spending time with the people she loved, singing, dancing, traveling, and most of all anything that made her laugh.
Sophia will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister, cousin, niece, aunt, goddaughter, and friend. She’ll be remembered for her kindness, her smile, and the ease with which she laughed. Her life was cut short, but she lived and enjoyed every minute of it. The love she gave and received were truly limitless.
Sophia is survived by both parents, Engelberto and Gina Perez; siblings, Carina Perez, Suzanna Perez, Tara Perez, Gilbert Perez and Venny Perez; children, Corbin Buehler, Hudson Buehler, and Reagan Buehler; and countless others.
A funeral service was held on Friday, February 12th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 12:00pm in Wasilla, AK.
