Stacy Ann Moe passed away on October 10, 2021, in Big Lake, Alaska. She was born in the Territory of Alaska on June 2, 1956, and was the only daughter of Lewis E. and Charlotte M. (Mumford) Simpson. Stacy attended Denali Elementary, Central Junior High, and West High School in Anchorage. After high school, she earned an associate degree from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage, where she was a member of Sigma Beta Delta, an international honor society in business, management, and administration. She was certified by the American Academy of Professional Coders and worked for Alaska Women’s Health Services, Alaska Neonatology, and Open Imaging Associates.
Stacy met Carl Moe in 1979. They began courting in 1981 and were married in Anchorage in September 1983. They have four children; Jennifer, Robyn, Bryan, and Kelcy. The couple moved to Eagle River in 1984 and to Big Lake in August 2001. Their children attended Houston Middle and High Schools. Stacy became a kidney transplant recipient in January 2010. Her interests consisted of water sports, piano, reading, crocheting, exploring new roads, and gathering with family, friends, fellow Red Hats, and her Bunco Team.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Carl; brothers, Lewis E. “Sandy” Simpson, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Steven Simpson, of Big Lake; her four children; seven grandchildren; 21 nieces and nephews; multiple cousins; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Scott.
