Long time Alaska resident Stephanie Jane Cass passed away on Friday, May 24th, 2024. Stephanie passed away peacefully at her home in Wasilla.
She joined the other angels in Heaven and was surrounded by her family, friends, and her faithful dog Nadia.
Stephanie was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 20th, 1958 to her happy parents Pete and Eva Holobinko. Her family moved to Wasilla in 1971 where she remained most of her life. She did spend a few years in Colorado skiing and this is where she met her husband, Chris Cass. The couple moved back to Alaska in May, 1989. Chris and Stephanie were married July 21st, 1990 on Lake Lucille. Five years later, Stephanie gave birth to their one and only child Anastasia. Stephanie worked on the North Slope and just before retiring, she owned a cleaning company.
Stephanie had many hobbies which include music, gardening, cooking, baking, quilting, and crocheting.
Stephanie is survived by her husband Chris of Wasilla and her daughter Anastasia of Denver, Colorado. Other survivors are her mother Eva Holobinko and her brother Ladd Holobinko, both of Wasilla. Also survived by her oldest brother Andrew Holobinko of Spain. Stephanie had many nieces and nephews from Colorado and Nebraska. She also had many cousins scattered all over Pennsylvania, Ohio, and other parts of the Midwest.
Ashes to be scattered on later date. Stephanie requested a wake/campfire for folks to get together and share old stories.
