Stephen James Thornlow passed away on Oct. 10, 2015, in Dibble, Oklahoma. Born on June 16, 1950, to James and Elizabeth Thornlow, he was one of five siblings.

Steve married the love of his life, Ramona, in 1978 and together they had a beautiful daughter, Michele, born in 1980. In 1983, they relocated to Grants Pass, Oregon, where he enjoyed gardening. They moved again to California, so that Mona could be closer to her family. After retirement, they made their home in Dibble, Oklahoma. Even though retired, Steve went to work part time for the city of Blanchard, Oklahoma, at their waste transfer site. He enjoyed giving back to his community by helping people.

Always working on some project, he had just built a garage at his home. Steve was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back and the last penny in his pocket. He especially loved children, doting on his nephews and nieces. Also a lifelong animal lover, he took care of strays and wild critters alike. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and the occasional trip to a casino. Steve will be missed by all who knew him.

Steve is survived by his wife, Mona; daughter, Michele; his mother, Liz Thornlow; brothers, Don (Pam), Chris (Cindy), and sisters Debbie and Kathy. Also surviving are his nephews, James, Jared and DJ, and nieces KelseyAnn and Lauren. He was preceded in death by his father, James Thornlow, and his father-in-law, Jesse Stone. Steve also leaves behind his much loved four dogs and cat. There are plans for a celebration of Steve’s life to be held next June 2016 in Palmer.
