Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Steve Kroeker, 41, died suddenly on Sept. 2, 2014, at his home in Anchorage.
Steve was born in Worthington, Minnesota, Dec. 8, 1972, to Jerry and Donna (Davis) Kroeker.
He grew up in Southwestern Virginia; graduating from Lee High School in Jonesville. Steve moved to Alaska with his parents in 1991. He was employed with Fritz Companies and FedEx for many years. Some of his interests included music, art and technology. Steve enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and sharing good laughs with those that he loved. He was a gentle and kind hearted man with a hug and encouraging words for those whom he saw needed it. His quiet strength, infectious laughter and his wise insight will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Steve is survived by his parents, Jerry and Donna Kroeker of Wasilla; siblings, Mike (Jeanne) Kroeker of New London, Minnesota, Dale (Rhenda) Kroeker of Jonesville, Virginia, Karen Kroeker of Wasilla and Jeanette (Jason) Breding of Wasilla; sister-in-law, Hiedi Miller; eight nieces; three nephews; and many dear friends.
Preceding him in death was his brother, Ken Kroeker.
