Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Palmer resident Steven Earl Scheibl, 51, passed away at Providence Alaska Medical Center on Feb. 8, 2010, in Anchorage.
A service will be held at St. Michaels Catholic Church at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Scheibl was born Sept. 26, 195,8 in Marshfield, Wis. He moved to Alaska in 1960 and is a graduate of Palmer High School. Mr. Scheibl also lived in Barrow for five years. Steven was a certified boiler technician, carpenter and cabinet maker who worked throughout the state. For a short time Mr. Scheibl had on-call service, a handy man business. He belonged to the Sons of American Legion Post 15.
He is survived by his brothers Dan Scheibl of Fairbanks; Carl Scheibl of Palmer; Gary and Jennifer Scheibl of Palmer; David Scheibl of Las Vegas, Nevada; Nancy and Dan Hanson of Wasilla; daughter Kayla Scheibl of Palmer; mother Rosella Scheibl of Palmer; and many nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by wife Michell; father Allan G. Scheibl; and sister Susan Folladay.
Arrangements were entrusted to Kehl’s Legacy Funeral Home, Palmer Chapel.
