Supports school board candidate

To the editor:

Lisa Murkowski isn’t the only write-in candidate in the upcoming elections. Another name making the rounds is Carol Coe, who is vying for a school board seat in the Valley.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Carol Coe for several years. When we first met, Carol was the treasurer for our PTA, quietly balancing the books and making sure money went where it was needed to support student achievement. As a parent volunteer and fellow PTA officer, I got to see firsthand her passion for her child’s education and academic opportunities. Since then, I have seen her serving a number of functions in our school and on our PTA. As PTA president, Carol successfully and often singlehandedly led our PTA through a difficult time, resolving differences and getting the job done efficiently.

Carol Coe has experience with budgets and finances, she has a passion for education and academic opportunities and she has the qualities of leadership that allow her to create change. These all seem like the qualities that would make an effective school board member, and I guess it is no secret whose name I will be writing in next to School Board Seat C.
