Susan Jane McNally
Susan Jane McNally, 74, of Wasilla, Alaska, passed away April 14, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
A celebration of life will be held at Sunny Knik Chapel, Mile 14 South Knik Goose Bay Road, Wasilla at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21. Her family invites all who knew and loved Susan to join us for a service and a potluck afterwards. Susan loved to feed her friends and family and would enjoy knowing we were gathered to remember her.
Susan was born January 3, 1947, to Kenneth and Mary Coonrad in Troy, New York. She was the third of 10 children. She married the love of her life, Harold McNally, on May 5, 1976. That began a long, wonderful adventure that started with moving to Alaska. They built houses, learned to fly airplanes, lived on a gold mine, and had many other interesting adventures.
Susan was a wonderful mom and grandmother. She was a loving mom to her five children and many others that she ‘adopted’ over the years. She was a doting grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for and feeding her friends and family. We all have enjoyed her ‘grandma Sue bread’ at most every function she went to. She was a member of Sunny Knik Chapel and of Lazy River Homemakers, FCE.
She is survived by her husband, Hal; her five children, Larry (and Teresa), Linda, Doug (and Shannon), Amy (and Will), Jill (and John); grandchildren, Michael, Meghan, Kyle, Katherine, Katie, Dominick, Tanner, Erik, Jessica, and David; great grandchildren, Alexander, Nicole, Harlynn, Wesston, Miles and Olivia; and 3 new great grandbabies that are due this summer/fall. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, other extended family, and her many “adopted” children and grandchildren.
