Suzanne Elizabeth Ickes, 42, passed away Jan. 30, 2016, at her home in Wasilla, Alaska.
Suzanne was born Feb. 6, 1973, at Elmendorf AFB Anchorage Alaska.
She was known by all for having the biggest, most giving heart of gold that she proudly wore on her sleeve. She always made sure her friends and family knew how much she loved them.
She was the most giving person we’d ever known. Making others happy and bringing family together were some of the things that brought her the most happiness. She also loved cooking, traveling, camping, riding ATVs and sleds, gardening and being a mother to Sierra. Her and Sierra were best friends and did everything together.
Her ability to forgive others was near biblical. She didn’t know how to hold a grudge. She only wanted to spread love.
The world is a little less beautiful without her in it. Though she has left this world, her spirit remains in all of us. “We love and miss you, our wonderful Suzy-Q.”
Suzanne is survived by her mother, Karen Verley; father, Jon Verley; husband, Frank Whiteman; daughter, Sierra Whiteman; stepchildren, Joshua Whiteman and Shay Whiteman; brothers, Paul Gangstad, Jody McAdams, AJ and Shannon Gangstad, Clay Gangstad, Joe and Jen Gangstad, Jimmy and Alysia Verley; nephews, Austin Gangstad, Blake Ganstad, Hawkin Gangstad, Landon Verley, Tyler McAdams; nieces, Christi Gangstad, Ashley Gangstad, Caylee Gangstad, Saryn Gangstad, Avelyn Gangstad, Harper Gangstad, Jaylynn Gangstad; and granddaughter, Madison Whiteman.
