Terri A. Wisthoff

Terri A. Wisthoff, 46, passed away July 24 with her husband at her side at her Wasilla home. She was born Oct. 5, 1962 in Spokane, Wash., the daughter of Ken and Judy (Anderson) Gartz.

Terri graduated from West Valley High School in Spokane and in 1983 she moved to Alaska. She worked at various businesses in Anchorage including the Z.J. Loussac Public Library, the Anchorage Municipality Prosecutors Office and the Anchorage YMCA. Terri also worked with her husband as they pursued various self-employment adventures.

Wherever Terri worked (or played) she was a positive, supportive asset who helped out and volunteered whenever needed.

In her spare time, Terri enjoyed knitting, reading, gardening and spending time with her family, friends and pets. She was a loving, giving person with a heart of gold. Terri was the type of person who would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Terri fought a long difficult battle against cancer and did so with a dignity and calm about her. Through it all she was blessed with the calm loving spirit of Christ. She was still thinking of others to the end. May she rest in the peace of Jesus’ arms.

Terri is survived by her beloved husband of 25 years, Gary Wisthoff; daughter, Stephanie M. Wisthoff-Brown of Tumwater, Wash.; parents, Ken and Judy Gartz of Spokane; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Cord Siegel of Rosalia, Wash.; nephew, Cody Siegel; and niece, Heather Siegel.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday at the home of Gary Wisthoff, 1665 E. Scotwood Dr. Wasilla, AK 99654.

Arrangements are under the care of Valley Funeral Home and Crematory in Wasilla.
