Terri Carmel Granger Chase, 75, passed peacefully in her home on April 27th, 2020 in Palmer, Alaska, with her family present. The family later shared a small, private celebration in her honor.

Terri was also born in Palmer to June Delores France and Wilbur Loyd Granger, and is a third generation Matanuska-Susitna Valley colonist. She attended Wasilla and Palmer elementary schools, junior high in Palmer, and graduated from Palmer High School in 1963.

Terri first married in 1967 and had three girls that attended schools in Palmer in the 1970's. As a student, Terri, attended Matanuska-Susitna Community College for a couple of years before working for a local real-estate office. Then, a career change moved her family to Anchorage in 1978.

Terri worked as a teller for First National Bank of Anchorage until she was able to secure a position with the State of Alaska in the 1980's. After retiring from the state, Terri married Charles F. Chase. She then worked retail until 2009 when she fully retired and moved back to Palmer.

Quilts and crafts occupied Terri’s time and she lovingly distributed her works amongst her family. Later when her great-grandchildren arrived, she undertook the task of learning to facetime. Soon the iPad became her next beloved hobby. Though electronics were challenging, she was always an entertaining conversationalist!

“She is loved by those who knew,” her family says, “for her sweet and kind heart.”

Terri is survived by her three daughters, Julie Chase of Palmer, AK, Jenette Blatchford and Camey Rexrode of Nevada; husband Charles Chase of Palmer, AK, granddaughter Jessica Smith and great-grandchildren Emmaley and Ronin Smith of Pennsylvania, granddaughter Joy Chase of Maryland, granddaughter Alexis Gunnels of Nevada, grandson Liam Gains of Washington; and granddaughter Julianna Chase of Palmer, AK, sister Dawn of Anchorage, AK; brother Grant and sister Garnet of Oregon.

Grandson, Michael Chase, preceded Terri in death in 2012; as well as her mother (1971), and father (1948). They were all from Palmer, Alaska.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in her name, or to a charity of your choice.

Her ashes were sealed in a columbarium at the Pioneer Cemetery in Palmer, Alaska on May 6th, 2020.
