Wasilla resident Terri Lynn Cloyes, 59, died Feb. 12, 2013, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer.
A celebration of life in honor of Terri is at 1:30 p.m., Feb. 16 at New Life Church, 10697 E. Palmer-Wasilla Highway, Palmer. Pastor Barry Orzalli will officiate. A secondary service is at 1:30 p.m., Feb. 23 at Anchorage Moose Lodge on Arctic Boulevard in Anchorage.
Terri was born Aug. 30, 1953, in Kansas City, Kan., to Bud and Melba Cloyes.
Terri was brought into this world with a bright smile and facing many challenges, all of which she overcame. Terri was told she would never be able to live on her own. She not only proved that wrong by successfully supporting herself, she also purchased two condos and retired from her federal job. She was known for her silly candor, her one-line zingers, her wonderful hugs and her generosity. She was a proud member of the Anchorage Moose Lodge and held numerous positions within the Women of the Moose. She was a member of the Real Life Church in Wasilla. She loved bowling, bingo (which she always seemed to win at) and camping. She also enjoyed her memories of traveling with friends and family members throughout the Lower 48.
Preceding her in death was her mother, father and grandparents.
Surviving are her sister, Ann Rogers; her brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Roxie Cloyes; niece, Susan Rogers and her husband Randy Dennis and their children, Randy, Trisha and Stefani; niece, Michele Coker and her husband Russell and their children, Jimmie and Melisa; niece, Staci Chapman and husband Shane and their children, Stephen, Keighvin, Donavin, Sami, Kaylee, Gina and family friend Lucas; best friends, Sharon and Kory; as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Donation in memory of Terri may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Arrangements were by the Valley Funeral Home and Crematory. An obituary and guestbook are online at AlaskanFuneral.com.
