Terry Allyn McCluskey, 67, died unexpectedly, but peacefully, at home in the Mat-Su Valley in the early morning hours of April 30, 2013.
He drove a mixer truck for Klondike Concrete at the time of his death, a profession he held for the past 20 years.
Terry was born to Harold and Dorothy McCluskey in Houlton, Maine, on Feb. 20, 1946.
Preceding him in death was his first wife of 32 years, Dorothy; brothers, Jud and James; sister, Noreen; and his beloved granddaughter, Brianna Gregory. His big black Lab Duke will also be greeting him on the other side with tail wagging and a wet tennis ball.
Surviving are his wife, Gale; children, Bryan, Marilyn, Lorinda, Anita and Cody; and many grandchildren.
Terry had many interests, including a large well-equipped home shop that any hardy man would envy. He enjoyed four-wheeling and traveling with his wife, whom he met at Klondike years ago. He loved St. Bernard dogs and at one time owned 16 of them. He also enjoyed his John Deere tractor.
Terry was an honest, hard-working and kind Christian man with a heart of gold. He loved God, his wife and his country, serving on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk for four years during the Vietnam War.
His wife, Gale, states you couldn’t find a person who met Terry who would say an unkind word about him.
Terry will be missed terribly by his family, and although this Earth lost one of its best souls, Heaven will be the better for it.
Services will be held at Kehl’s Funeral Home in downtown Palmer at 5 p.m., May 11.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD 20814, in honor of his granddaughter, Brianna.
