Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Long time Knik Alaska resident, Terry Langholz, born 3-21-51 to Victor & Eileen Langholz, passed away 6-26-24 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Terry is survived by siblings, Bill, Ken, Vicki, Kathy, Bob and Curtis. Daughters, Melissa, Jennifer and Brooke. Grandchildren, Jose, Preston, Ethan, Presley and Kaitlyn. Nine nieces, two nephews and many cousins.
Terry worked with the Iron Workers Union and Iditarod Masonry. He was always willing to help family and friends with vehicle and tire repairs. He built dog sleds for dog mushers for several years. He was on the trail crew, helping groom, and mark the trail, as well as timing for the Knik 100- 200-mile races and Jr Iditarod, where he was lead checker for many years. He was a lifetime board member of the Knik Iditarod Trail Blazers.
Terry was instrumental in the construction of the Vi Redington memorial Bridge over Fish Creek on the Iditarod Trail.
Terry always displayed a can-do attitude and will be greatly missed!
