Houston resident Terry Lee Davis, 65, died March 8, 2011.
Terry was born to Claude and Jane Davis on Oct. 3, 1945, in Minnesota. In his youth, his family moved to Anchorage. In the 1970s, Terry bought his father’s auto body shop, Alaska Auto Arts. After many years in Anchorage, Terry moved his family and business to the Valley. In the 1990s Terry retired and started to travel. In the early 2000s he became an official snowbird, spending winters in Mesa, Ariz.
Terry enjoyed life to the fullest. His passion was family and cars. If he wasn’t working on his own car, you could find him working on family cars or watching NASCAR.
Terry died in Mesa, Ariz., of natural causes after a long battle with kidney failure and other health-related issues. Preceding him in death were his father, Claude; his mother, Jane; and numerous aunts, uncles and grandparents.
Surviving are his daughter, Deanna Quinn and her children; daughter, Tracy McBride and her husband and children; brother, Lyle Davis and his wife and children; and many, many friends.
Terry will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, make donations to: Hospice of the Valley, East Mesa PCU, 6063 E. Arbor Ave. Building C Mesa, AZ 85206.
Hospice took excellent care of Terry at the end of his life, and he passed peacefully into Heaven where he was once again united with his parents.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 25 at Terry’s Houston house. A barbecue will follow the service. Seating is limited, so please bring a chair.
