Terry Spencer

32, of Alaska, was born February 2, 1987 in Anchorage. He died on October 17, 2019 when someone took his life.

Terry is remembered today by those who love him for everything that he was. Terry loved family more than anything and had a heart of gold. He was always there for others in any way he could be. He shared a love and enthusiasm for the wonders of the world around him through his many adventures. He loved to fish in costumes, was an amazing hockey player, enjoyed challenging the river logs while kayaking, loved hiking, left golf balls all over Alaska, was always sharing photos of the sunsets, and couldn’t wait for Halloween. He saw every snowflake for the unique beauty it held and loved to shred the mountains on his board and sled. Terry was also an avid fisherman. There wasn’t a river in Alaska he didn’t have his line in and he loved it most with family. Although his life was ended tragically and needlessly, he will never be forgotten. The light of his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Terry is preceded by his grandfather Richard Rutledge.

He is survived by his mother Pamela Rutledge; stepfather Stephen Papasodora; father Jim Spencer; stepmother Karen Spencer; grandmother Arvilla Rutledge; son Landyn Spencer; sisters Audrey Cucullu, Alisha Rutledge, and Hannah Spencer; brothers Chris Marvin, Jason Criss, Nicholas Abernathy, Stephen Papasodora, Matt Spencer, and Ian Spencer; nieces and nephews Michael, Lillah, Patience, Julianna, Carter, Kayla, and Aiden; and many more family members.

Memorial services are being held Monday, October 28 at Summit Worship Center, 125 W Riley Ave in Wasilla, AK. Services begin at 3:00pm and there will be a potluck to follow.
