Thomas A. Engstrom passed away on May 14, 2025, in, Palmer Alaska, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease and multiple cancers. He was 77 years old.
Born on March 16, 1948, in Everett, Washington, Thomas was the son of Arnold and Belma (Surface) Engstrom. On November 15, 1969, he married Marilyn (Wood) Engstrom. Together they shared over 55 years of marriage filled with love and resilience.
Thomas is survived by his devoted wife Marilyn; two daughters, Joanne Cassidy (Brian) of Willow, Alaska, and Kersten Safford (William) of Ogden, Utah; and three grandsons Thomas, Carl, and Eric Cassidy of Willow. He also leaves behind step-grandchildren Jade, Kydren, and Brylin of Ogden; one great-grandchild, Leena Safford; and two sisters, Marlene Meyer and Arnold and Belma preceded him in death and Mary Taffera.
Throughout his life, Thomas remained positive in the face of adversity. His strength and enduring spirit were a source of inspiration to those around him.
His biggest joy was hunting and fishing, and just being out at his cabin. When unable to be in the woods he loved to remember those favorite times.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
