Thomas Alfred Ouellette, 57, beloved husband, father, brother and grandpa passed away peacefully at home with his family after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
He was born Aug. 30, 1955, in Fort Lewis, Wash., to Alfred and Bertha Ouellette.
Tom as he was known to his family and friends, moved to Alaska in 1967, where he worked and lived in Anchorage before moving to the Mat-Su Valley with his family to Nancy Lake in Willow in 1993. Everyone knew him as a very hard and dedicated worker. He purchased Nancy Lake Resort, which he and his wife Valerie ran for 17 years.
Tom loved the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, boating on the lake and golf. He also enjoyed music barbecuing and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed spending a lot of time in his garage and wood shop, where he enjoyed building and showing the family his carpentry skills.
He will be remembered by his family and friends for his quick wit, funny jokes and his love of life. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
“We love you, Daddy ‘O,’” his family wrote.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Valerie Ouellette; daughters, Mary Frasier, Christina Richardson and Beverly Ouellette; son, Michael Ouellette; grandsons, Andrew Frasier and Blayke Richardson; mother, Bertha Ouellette; brother, Mark Ouellette; and a lot of family. Preceding him in death was his father, Sgt. Major Alfred Ouellette Jr.
