Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Thomas C. Robinson, 76, died May 6, 2012, at 673rd Medical Group Hospital in Anchorage.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at a graveside service at 1:30 p.m., May 15 at Fort Richardson National Cemetery with full military honors rendered by the U.S. Marine Corps. Meet at 1 p.m. at the Fort Richardson gate, off the Glenn Highway.
Thomas Clinton Robinson was born June 24, 1935, at Pike County, Ky. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1955. He then made his home in California and retired from Pacific Perforating as an oilfield worker in 1995.
He lived in Colorado for many years and moved to Wasilla five years ago.
He was an avid fisherman and loved to read the word of God. He had been a member of Church on the Rock in Wasilla for the last three years.
“The family wishes to give many thanks to the doctors and nurses at JBER for taking such good care of our father,” the family wrote. “We cannot thank you all enough.”
Surviving are his children, Donna and her husband Lester Carpenter of Wasilla, Mary Tibbs of California, William Robinson of Arizona, Kathy Cheshire of Arizona, Judith Kardinal of California and Joyce Nelson of California; grandchildren, April Jackson, Stephanie Kuykendall, Virginia Robinson, David Robinson and Marie Wilson; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Nannie and Whetzel Robinson; and his wife of more than 38 years, Roselee M. Robinson.
