Palmer resident Thomas Otto, 70, passed away July 30, 2024, at his home after a very long battle with cancer. He was diagnosed with leukemia in 2003 and underwent a T-cell transplant in Seattle, WA. He was given a very low chance of survival but beat it for 21 years. Later he was diagnosed with bladder and lung cancer. He was the energizer bunny who kept on fighting.
A graveside service will be held at Ft. Richardson National Cemetery August 7th at 2:30pm.
Tom was a history buff, his hobbies included archery, backpacking, hunting, camping, gun collecting, shooting, and scaring his children. His family wrote he was a fighter, sweet, kind, funny, a practical joker, strong, loving, amazing and loved to talk, He was always there for us!
He is survived by his wife Maureen, three sons, Brad Otto and (Jody)of Palmer; Daniel Otto and (Stephanie Grieshaber, significant other) of Sebastian, Florida; Christopher Otto of Anchorage, Alaska; 3 grandchildren, Cody, Aaron and Annabelle; brother John of Elk Grove, CA; sister Annie of Sacramento, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister.
Tom requested to be buried in his Buick, standing up with a margarita in hand, but that was nixed by his wife.
