Kim Louise Thompson McAllister, 54, died Sept. 8, 2012, in Wasilla from natural causes. The family is having a private family gathering to honor Kim. Blessed be the memory of Kim.

Kim was born June 11, 1958 in Pasco, Wash. She came to Alaska in May 1970 and lived in Anchorage and Wasilla. She attended East High School in Anchorage. She married Frank McAllister in 1979. They built their home in Wasilla where they raised their two girls, Katie and Patricia. Kim and Frank later divorced.

For many years, Kim enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. In 1987, she became a member of the Alaska Dairy Goat Association and enjoyed breeding, raising and showing goats. She loved spending time in the garden. Most of all, she loved being with her daughters and grandchildren.

Her family wrote, “Mom had a kind soul and a loving heart. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She will be greatly missed by many. The wonderful memories of her will be forever treasured and she will always be in our hearts.

Preceding her in death was her mother, Joyce Decker.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Josh Dinwiddie of Wasilla; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Shaun Piaskowski of Wasilla; father, Jim Thompson Jr. of Anchorage; brothers, Jim Thompson III of Palmer and Kelly Thompson of Anchorage; stepmother, Leslie Knapp of Pinehurst, Idaho; and grandchildren, Layla, Sylis and Charlie of Wasilla.
