Timothy L. Kruse

Houston resident, Timothy L. (Metzker) Kruse, 47, passed into the arms of Jesus at Providence Extended Care Center after many years of fighting C.O.P.D. and cancer, Jan. 31, 2008. He was born June 26, 1960 in Washington.

Kruse was a country boy who loved the spirit of the wild. He had just built a new log home in Houston with the help of family and friends. He was an EMT2 and president of “Alaska Medical Support Team,” and worked with Willow and Houston EMS services.

He loved the outdoors and all it held. With cooking as a favorite past time, he held barbecues frequently. He also loved snowmachining, camping and most of all being surrounded by family and friends.

He grew up in Hatcher Pass where he, his sister Cindy and the neighbor kids spent lots of time camping, hiking, and having fun in the mountains. “Fred Bear” was his favorite song and he lived it.

His family wrote, “He is now free to do whatever he wishes and can travel with the Lord.

“He will always be with us in our hearts and minds. He was the best husband, father, friend and loved us all very much, as we did him, and always will. “

Kruse leaves behind his wife, Erin Kruse; daughter Rebecca L. Kruse; sons Matthew Clark and Ian Clark; parents Gary and Heather Metzker; sister and brother-in-law Cindy and Axle Hansen and their children Shayla and Riley; in-laws Con and June Murray; Uncle Doug Griffin and family; Glen Griffin; Aunt Linda Howell; Aunt Rita; and many friends too numerous to mention.

“God Bless you Tim – we love you very much and we’ll see you again in heaven. You are one of God’s special angels now and one with Lord, but will always remain in our hearts,” his family wrote.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 at Tim’s home in Houston, followed by a potluck. Directions: King Arthur Road, Houston, to the intersection of Looking Glass and Tea Party, big log home on the corner. Cards and condolences may be sent to the Kruse Family, P.O. Box 940255, Houston, AK 99694.
