Wasilla resident Timothy Patrick Collins, 60, passed away on March 30, 2011, at home of cancer. A service will be held at 11 a.m., April 9, at Legacy Funeral Home-Kehl’s Palmer Chapel; 209 S. Alaska St.

Timothy was born Oct. 28, 1950, in Mountain View, Calif. He graduated High School and served in the Army from 1971 to 1973 and became an Alaska resident in 1983. Timothy lived in Anchorage for a year before moving to the Valley. After moving to Alaska, he was employed at AIH in Anchorage and worked at Carrs from August 1987 and retired May 1, 2010. His hobbies were gardening, fishing and spending time with the family.

His family writes: “I have never met a better man. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly.”

Timothy is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jana Miner-Collins of Wasilla; daughter and son-in-law, Dacia Collins and Daniel Hamilton of Wasilla; son and daughter-in-law, Drew and Megan Collins of Salt Lake City, Utah; mother, Gladys Collins of Wasilla; sister, Nadean Sturgeon of Palmer; brother, Leonard Collins of Palmer; brother and sister-in-law, Andrew Collins and Joyce Talley of Anchorage; special pets, Lexi, Mia, Abby and Sunni; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Dean Collins; brother-in-law, Jeff Slurgeon; and parents-in-law Robert and Carol Miner.

Arrangements were entrusted to Legacy Funeral Homes-Kehl’s Palmer Chapel.
