Toni Arlene Utt, 50, died of cancer Oct. 14, 2007, in Palmer.
There will be a celebration of her life from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 25 at the VFW Hall on Knik-Goose Bay Road in Wasilla.
Utt was born Nov. 11, 1956, in Palmer and graduated from Wasilla High School in 1975. A lifetime Alaskan, she lived in Palmer from 1956 to 1970 and then in Wasilla from 1970 until the time of her passing. She had worked for Hermon Brothers Construction, EIE Construction and was self-employed at Moonrise Enterprises.
She was a member of the VFW and various other organizations, and enjoyed cooking and business with her clients, who were like family. Utt had love and understanding for so many people. No one was ever a stranger. She was also quite an animal lover and adopted many pets.
Utt is survived by her sister, Joann Utt of Wasilla; uncle and aunt Emil and Louise Waldal of Palmer; cousins John Riemer and Diana Kirkpatrick of Culver City, Calif., Ken, Diane and Dan Deroux of Juneau, and the Utts of West Virginia; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carmen and Ernest Utt, and adopted sister, Gladys Davis.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to Providence Hospital Cancer Center, P.O. Box 196604, Anchorage, AK 99519.
In keeping with her wishes, Utt’s ashes will be spread over the Iditarod Trail and Knik Checkpoint.
Valley Funeral Homes and Crematory of Palmer and Wasilla assisted the family.
