Tracy Dean DeVoll

Wasilla resident Tracy Dean DeVoll, 46, died Jan. 14 at Providence Alaska Medical Center due to heart failure.

There will be a private cremation with no memorial or service. Tracy’s ashes will be spread this spring near the Butte in Palmer, where he grew up.

Tracy DeVoll was born Jan. 20, 1963, in Anchorage to J.L. and Marion I. (Kelly) DeVoll.

He graduated with his associates degree from Ivy Tech in CAD engineering. He retired form the Army; worked for ANT and became self-employed afterwards.

Tracy had resided in Guam, Panama, Indiana and Alaska.

His childhood was full of time spent with his siblings, friends, going to school and telling stories.

In his adult years he and his Labrador Jessy were good friends and were at one time involved with the Retriever Club of Alaska, where Jessy won many ribbons. Jessy was his pride and joy. Tracy loved old cars and restoring them. When he wasn’t doing that he also enjoyed skeet shooting with his buddies.

Tracy DeVoll is survived by his mother, Marion I. (Kelly) DeVoll; his sister and her husband, Kelly Y. (DeVoll) Robson and Dennis Robson; Quinlan J. Folkestad (Talia); Gavin K. Folkestad; Marian B. Folkestad; Michael-Jacob Q. J. Folkestad; Naomi V. Folkestad; Jack O. Folkestad; Crystal D. Robson; Jeff Vought; Sierra N. Vought; Brooklyn D. Vought; Zane R. Vought; Joshua M. Robson (Rachel); Ethan M. Robson; his beloved pet Jessy and many friends.

Tracy was preceded in death by his father, J. L. DeVoll, 2005; his grandfather, Cloyce E. DeVoll, 1983; Clyde C. (Rogers) DeVoll, 1945; Pauline P. (Pruett) DeVoll, 2008; Oren M. Kelly, 1990; and Ruth A. (Noble) Kelly, 2007.

In lieu of flowers and cards, donations can be made honor of Tracy to the National Kidney Foundation, 3000 West 8th Ave., Anchorage, AK 99503.

Tracy’s family sends great gratitude and thank yous to the many years of Dr. Steven Tucker’s dedication to his health care. We also want to thank all the nurses and additional physicians involved in Tracy’s care while in Providence Hospital.

Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
