Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Travis Shawn Hoeldt 34 of Wasilla, passed away April 18 at Mat-Su Regional surrounded by his family.
He was born in Anchorage, Alaska on March 30, 1982 and raised in Kenai, Anchorage, Palmer and Wasilla.
Travis was happiest with his wife and kids. He loved fishing, hiking, camping, outdoor activities, and video games with them. He planned on getting his family into hunting. He loved sharing family events together. He looked forward to someday taking his family on a cross-country road trip. He dreamed of making ice cream and owning his own restaurant (he had crazy flavor ideas).
He was currently employed at First Student as a bus driver, which he enjoyed.
He met the love of his life, Amanda, while they were working at the carnival in Kenai and were married. They were married 10 years and have three children he adored.
Travis is survived by his wife Amanda, daughter Kiara, sons Tristan, and Aidan; mother Dawn Sanchez, Kenai; his brothers Randalle (Tiffany)Hoeldt, Palmer; Leo Sanchez, Anchorage; sisters Cheyenne Dixon, Kenai; Seanna Momarts (Curtis Ouellette), Palmer; and Lacy Williams, Idaho; grandmother Joyce Momarts, Palmer; and Grandmother Kristie Hocking, Anchorage.
Travis was preceded in death by his father Kirk Momarts; stepfathers Craig Dixon and Leo Sanchez sr.; grandfathers Larry (Bud) Hoeldt and Richard Momarts.
A celebration of life will be held Friday April 29, 2016 at 3pm at Valley Funeral Home, located at 151 e. Herning Ave. in Wasilla, with a potluck following.
