PALMER —The annual Trick or Treat Street community event hosted by the Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce drew a large number of families this year.
Locals from across the Mat-Su Valley dressed up their children in colorful and creative costumes representing the full spectrum of Halloween spirit. If it was cute, spooky, superhero themed, or anything in between, you could see it on full display in downtown Palmer throughout the evening Friday, Oct. 28.
The Palmer Chamber keeps this annual event going each year, pulling different businesses across the community together to offer free candy and festive games and activities for all ages.
“It’s wonderful that all of our businesses stay open later to allow local kids to come and trick or treat in a fun and safe environment,” Palmer Chamber Executive Director Ailis Vann told the Frontiersman.
AKtive Soles Performance Footwear and its affiliate AKtive Body Gym and Fitness were some of the numerous local businesses that participated in this year’s Trick or Treat Street.
AKtive Soles employees Mackenzie Sprague and Jeremy Allen handed out candy to children as they made their way through the Kozlowski Building.
“I love seeing all the creative costumes,” Sprague said. “I love to have the community together.”
AKtive Body Gym also hosted a spooky maze on the bottom floor of the Kozlowski Building. AKtive Soles and AKtive Body Gym owner Anne Thomas said it was a very busy event this year, adding to the overall excitement.
“I think it’s a fantastic community event. It’s so fun to see so many people out in sutures and laughing and smiling,”
Thomas said that she’s happy to play her part in this cherished community tradition.
“It’s a tribute to the Chamber for pulling businesses and the community together,” Thomas said.
