WASILLA — The Mat-Su Valley legislative delegation will host an “interactive Town Hall” teleconference from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 19. Delegation members will participate in the teleconference from Juneau, with their comments live-streamed via the Internet.
Rep. Lynn Gattis (R-Wasilla), said the event is designed to allow legislators time to hear from constituents without having to travel back to the Mat-Su from Juneau.
“We’re taking advantage of 21st Century technology and hoping this can be another effective way to keep the conversation flowing and constituents engaged,” Gattis said in a press release announcing the event.
According to the release, the meeting is the first of its kind for the Valley delegation.
Expected to participate are Rep. Gattis, along with Rep. Mark Neuman, Rep. Jim Colver, Rep. Wes Keller, Rep. Shelley Hughes, Rep. Cathy Tilton, Sen. Charlie Huggins, Sen. Mike Dunleavy and Sen. Bill Stoltze.
Anyone wishing to testify during the livestream can do so at the Mat-Su LIO office at 600 E. Railroad Avenue in Wasilla. Those unable to attend in person can watch the event online at http://alaskalegislature.tv/ or call the Juneau LIO at (907) 465-4648 to be patched in and listen telephonically.
