Vasilios (Bill) Karagounis
On Saturday, September 4th, 2021, Vasilios (Bill) Karagounis passed away at the age of 68. He was born on April 3rd, 1953 in Nerotrivia, Greece!
His parents were George and Anastasia, his brother, Demitri, sister Elaine, and younger brother Tony.
Bill came to the state of Alaska in 1976, he moved to the area where his cousins have a restaurant and he worked with them for a few years.
Bill eventually made his way to Palmer where he and his brother Tony opened up their own restaurant, PizzaRia Delphi. For 38 years he was well known for his pizza.
On May 24th, 1986, Bill met his wonderful wife, Kiki in Greece and they just celebrated their 35th anniversary. Bill and Kiki enjoyed a wonderful life together.
Bill was known for his amazing cooking and he loved to cook for others. He also loved to fish, be in his garden, and play his Greek instrument the bouzouki, for his friends. But the thing he was known for by others was his love for the Bible and teaching people about the wonderful future and what Jehovah promises for all mankind. One of his favorite scriptures was Revelation 21:4 says: God will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.
Bill’s smile and laughter will be missed so much by friends and family, and we can’t wait till that day when we can see him again, perfect in a paradise earth.
