Mat-Su Valley resident, Mr. Vern Lee Bellamy, 63, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at Alaska Regional Medical Center in Anchorage.

A celebration of Vern’s life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at the Anchorage Funeral Home, 1800 Dare Ave., Anchorage, AK 99515.

Military honors will be performed, and the family invites attendees to stay afterward to reflect and share memories.

Vern was born Dec. 12, 1951, to Phillip and Lucile (Laufer) Bellamy in Rawlins, WY. He entered into the U.S. Navy Dec. 28, 1970, until he was honorably discharged Dec. 5, 1974. Vern moved to the Mat-Su Valley in 1984, where he has resided ever since. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and raising farm animals.

Vern is survived by his parents, Philip and Lucile Bellamy, of Yuma, AZ; daughter and son in-law, Julie and Rudy Graham, of Jacksonville, NC; daughter, Lucy Bellamy, of Fairbanks, AK: son and daughter in-law, Phillip and Tera Bellamy, of Anchorage, AK; grandchildren, Anna-Maria and Devan Bellamy, Joseph and Iolani Deponte, all of Fairbanks, AK, Geovanni Graham of Jacksonville, NC, Phillip and Samuel Bellamy, both of Anchorage, AK.
